FAQ

Why take a guided tour of RMNP? Where will this tour take me that I couldn’t go on my own?

There are tons of choices out here in Colorado for adventure experiences. While there is definitely a sense of freedom when traveling individually, there are always added benefits to consider when going with a tour company. Guided tours are great for people who don’t have a lot of time to plan every detail of their trip. Group tours are also a fantastic way to connect with like-minded travelers.

Should I worry about high altitude sickness on your tours?

Sleeping at high altitude produces the most hypoxemia (high-altitude sickness); day trips to high altitude with return to low altitude are much less stressful on the body. Generally our day trips see very little symptoms of high altitude sickness, and almost always the option of descending to a lower elevation comes quick once we reach our high elevation. The majority of our tours achieve heights of 12,000’ above sea level for about 20 minutes, then the descent begins, and the symptoms of high altitude sickness begin to relax almost immediately. Kep Expeditions always has water on board, which is recommended for high elevations.

What is provided on a tour/expedition?
